WATCH out for what should be a very enjoyable four day festival of music in Enniscrone, Co Sligo, in mid-June.
The Enjoy Travel Company, who organise the annual Fleadh Ibiza, Fleadh Portugal and a number of other promotions, will host their first west-of-Ireland venture in the Diamond Coast Hotel  in Enniscrone, which lies just north of Ballina, from Monday to Thursday, June 15 to 19. It will feature country and céilí dancing, set dancing, sean nós, dancing workshops and some nightly sing-along sessions.
The event is generating a lot of interest and many people, especially from England, have already booked into the seaside village for the week.
Among those taking part are Michael O’Brien and Philomena McGovern, Dermot Hegarty, Pat Jordan and his band, Michael Muldoon from Manchester, Catherine Darcy and Images, Carmel McLoughlin, Danny Webster, the Annalee Céilí Band, Johnny Carroll, Padraig Farrell, Mick Mackey, Joe Ryan and the Enjoy Travel Band.
Special accommodation packages are now available, while patrons can also ramble along for the entire day sessions or the nightly dancing. A daily pass costs €20, and an evening pass is just €10, making it a top-value week for all who head to Enniscrone. Anyone seeking further information about the week can contact 0044 1254295600.

Mizzell concert
Louisiana man Robert Mizzell (pictured) and his band, The Country Kings, make a welcome return to the McWilliam Park in Claremorris this Friday night, June 5. With all the votes in the local- and European-election ballot boxes at that stage, those wishing to relax and take things easy for a few hours can do so in the company of this very talented combination.
“I am in the middle of recording my new album these days,” said Robert when I spoke to him on Thursday. “We are very busy this summer, which is great, considering the economic times we are going through. People still love to come out and dance and enjoy their favourite music. Thank God there are loads and loads of folks who love country music dearly.
“Mayo has always been a good county for us, and we are delighted to be going back to Claremorris this weekend.”

Hillbillies back in town
One of the most acclaimed Irish country bands of the 1970s, Ray Lynam and The Hillbillies, are expected to come together for a very special benefit night in the McWilliam Park in Claremorris on Wednesday, June 24. Most of the original members are expected to join Ray and a host of other entertainers on the night.
The proceeds from the venture are to assist Billy Condon’s wife, who underwent major surgery in recent months.
Billy, the original fiddle player with the Hillbillies, is widely known throughout the country-music scene in Ireland. He was later a member of Daniel O’Donnell’s band for some years and also a member of the Jimmy Buckley band. Nowadays, he plays with Robert Mizzell’s Country Kings.
It is also expected that Philomena Begley will travel to Claremorris to team up with Ray Lynam, while Robert Mizzell and some other well-known names are expected to lend their support.

And finally…
Cork teenager Anne Marie O’Riordan will perform in concert in the Royal Theatre and Event Centre Castlebar on Sunday night, July 5.
The-19-year old is a huge favourite with listeners to Mid West Radio and is best known for her songs, This Story I Tell You Is True, and Cooraclare.
Tickets from the Royal.
