Des Keogh brings Shaw to life at the Linenhall

One of the country’s most renowned actors and performers Des Keogh performs his sparkling new one-man show ‘My Fair Ladies’ at The Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar tomorrow evening (Wednesday), June 24, at 8pm.
Celebrating his 80th year, Des Keogh, gets to fulfil a life-long ambition to play legendary Irish man of letters George Bernard Shaw. Following the phenomenal success of his show ‘The Love-Hungry Farmer’, by John B Keane, Des has devised and performs in a hugely entertaining new play about the many women in the extraordinary life of one of the greatest playwrights of all time. Shaw not only shares anecdotes the loves of his life, but also his forthright views on sex, marriage and celibacy.
George Bernard Shaw was the author of ‘Pygmalion’, which became the universally acclaimed film ‘My Fair Lady’. Other titles include ‘Arms and the Man’, ‘Saint Joan’, ‘Heartbreak House’, ‘Major Barbara’. Shaw was also a hugely controversial essayist and commentator.
