Mayo pubs to host emerging acts


Earlier this summer, Guinness unveiled an exciting new music programme, Guinness Amplify, designed to bring freshest new music talent to audiences all over Ireland. Over 800 acts applied online, and publicans all over Ireland have started selecting bands to perform live pub gigs at ‘Guinness Amplify Live’ throughout September and October, and the show comes to Mayo this weekend.
On Thursday, September 25, Author and The Illustrators will play at 10.30pm in the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, and Valerra will play in Bar Square, Ballina, at 10pm. The next night, Friday, Doppler will play in Bosh Bar, Castlebar, at 10pm; Brian Casey will play in Irish House, Castlebar, at 10pm; Ruggedwood will play in Cosy Joe’s, Westport, at 9.30pm; She’s a Beauty will play in Emmet Moloney’s, Ballina, at 10pm; and Conor Fahy will play in Gilligan’s Bar, Claremorris, at 9pm.
Saturday night will see Runabay play in Johnny McHales at 9pm; Old Hanna in Rocky’s, Castlebar at 10.30pm; Beatroot in Sailor’s Bar, Clare Island, at 9.30pm; Majestic Bears in Hanley’s, Claremorris, at 10pm.
On Sunday, September 28, Matt Molloy’s, Westport, will host Kammerpop, and An Sean Síbín, Ballina, will host Brian Casey.
