SALES of Cáirde Mhaigheo Season Tickets have increased by approximately 50 per cent from last year — with almost two weeks remaining to the start of the Allianz National League.
The new-look Mayo GAA Supporters Club, which was established in 2012, are reporting that sales of the extremely popular ticket are set to reach the 1,200 mark, up from approximately 800 last year.
It has also emerged that 80 per cent of last year’s Cáirde Mhaigheo Season Ticket members renewed their membership for 2013 last September, in return for the option to buy an extra ticket for the All-Ireland SFC Final between Mayo and Donegal.
The Season Tickets, which cost €200, guarantee Mayo GAA supporters free admission to all Allianz National League matches, including semi-finals and finals; free admission to Mayo’s opening Connacht SFC clash with Galway on May 19; and a special discount of €5 off the admission price for the Connacht semi-final and final, All-Ireland quarter-final and semi-final, if Mayo are involved.
The Cáirde Mhaigheo Season Ticket also guarantees the option to purchase an All-Ireland Final ticket should Mayo be competing on September 22.
It will also entitle fans to free admission to all club games in Mayo – championship, league and underage. New members will also qualify for a limited edition Cáirde Mhaigheo jacket.
“I think anyone who signed up last year will tell you that they got phenomenal value for money,” Mayo GAA Board Secretary Kevin O’Toole told The Mayo News.
“With Mayo reaching the National League Final and the All-Ireland Final, supporters who signed up to the Season Ticket scheme were rewarded for their loyalty.
“I would encourage anybody who hasn’t signed up for the 2013 season to do so as quickly as they can because the benefits speak for themselves.”
Enquiries can be made to any County Board Officer, by emailing: pro.mayo@gaa.ie or by ringing the Mayo GAA office at McHale Park on (094) 92 50487.
