Lady mugged

A lady in her late seventies was knocked to the ground and had her handbag stolen in Knock. Elderly lady suffers facial injuries in mugging

A LADY in her late seventies was knocked to the ground and had her handbag stolen by three young men in Knock on Saturday last.
The thieves robbed the elderly lady’s handbag after they pushed her to the ground in the West car park at 10.25pm on Saturday evening. The three men fled with the handbag, which contained a large amount of cash and a pension book.
The elderly lady suffered facial injuries and was brought by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar.
It is believed that the thieves made their getaway in a red Toyota car with a registration number beginning ‘93 D’.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward with information to Castlebar Garda Station on 094 9038211.
