Castlebar housing estate residents warned about suspicious red van

Residents of housing estates in the county town of Castlebar have been put on ‘Red Alert’ after a red transit van was seen driving through a number of the town’s estates over the last number of days.
Gardaí have received several reported sightings of the van, which is carrying two men wearing hoodies. The van has a Dublin registration and any members of the public with further information are asked to contact the Gardaí on 094 9022222.


Mayo GAA Development Draw goes ahead tonight in Killala

The first Mayo GAA Board Development Draw for 2010 will take place tonight (Friday) in the Tower Bar, Killala at 10pm. The number of tickets sold by clubs in the county is believed to be ‘slightly down’ on 2009 figures.
Meanwhile, tickets for the Connacht SFC match between Mayo and Sligo will be distributed by the Mayo GAA Board at McHale Park on Tuesday. Clubs must place their orders on or before Monday night next.


Tooth Fairy to fly in to Mayo Movie World this weekend

There will be a special treat for children from all around the county who go to see the new Tooth Fairy Movie in Castlebar this Saturday.
The Tooth Fairy herself will be there to promote clean, healthy teeth and gums and she’ll be handing out gifts and meeting children at the cinema. The Tooth Fairy Movie promotion is being run in association with DeCare Dental, Ireland’s largest dental insurance provider, whose headquarters are located in Claremorris.
